2017-2018 NHIMA Annual Report

The NHIMA Annual Election opens at 8 a.m. on Monday, February 19. Log into AHIMA/My AHIMA/Community/Voting Center and select the Ballot for the NHIMA Annual Election (2018). The election closes on Saturday, March 10 at 5 p.m.    Please take the time to vote for the 2018-2019 NHIMA Leaders!

Nominations for the NHIMA Distinguished Member are now being accepted.  The form to nominate one of your peers is available on the Nebraska Engage Online Community.  Completed forms can be emailed to cburbach@frhs.org

NHIMA is a professional healthcare organization of approximately 500 members affiliated with the field of Health Information Management (HIM).

The majority of members have certification as:

  • Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based (CCS-P)
  • Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
  • Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS)
  • Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA)
  • Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP)
  • Certified Professional in Health Informatics (CPHI)

NHIMA is a component state association of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).  The association is governed by a voluntary elected Board.  Several committees and task forces assist the Board.
